“come along as we unlock the mysteries of life, one pretty cool hotel at a time!”

Days Inn Terre Haute Indiana :

101 E Margaret Ave, Terre Haute, IN 47802

My rating : 4/5 (honestly, just for the pirate room alone.)

Cleanliness : 3/5 – but did not sleep there so that’s judging based on a tour.

Should you go : If you’re in the area, this is worth a stop. The pirate room is just so…wow. And honestly if the Winter room is up and running, that’ll be worth a trip too.

Worth the money : It feels a little pricey for what it is…but at least the rooms are elaborate!

Average nightly cost : $170

Location : Terre Haute, IN

Time of year to go : Probably not in winter to avoid snow out there!

Recommended room or activity : The pirate room and the winter/igloo room.

Bed bugs : None seen – but did not check mattress.

Nothin’ like the surprise of a regular old Days Inn with some Theme Suites! This one has a handful and we saw 3 of them. Unfortunately the room we had booked turned out to not be functional when we arrived. We booked the Winter Wonderland room but when we arrived the man at the front desk told us that room was currently under maintenance and wasn’t able to be slept in. That was pretty disappointing but he did let us at least *see* it, along with the Hawaiian room and the Pirate room. The Winter Wonderland room was very cool and I’m very sad it wasn’t presentable. It was so weird and kitschy and full of…stuff. These theme suites were ALL IN and I love that. The Hawaiian room also had a fountain and was just as weird and wonderful as you’d hope. I must say, if we ever go back, we are 1000% going for the Pirate room. Holy crap, you guys. A pirate-ship-shaped bed complete with a captain. The decor was honestly off the charts. We were in there for like 10 minutes and I doubt we even saw all the details. I did not get a chance to inspect the sheets or the mattress so unfortunately I can’t speak to the cleanliness there. I will say, there were no overwhelming smells or warning signs of other stains so that’s good! It was really dark though so I can only vouch for so much. This one will be a risk if you choose to sleepover but my HIGHEST recommendation is that you call ahead several times even after you’re booked online just in case your room doesn’t actually exist lol. The man at the desk was nice but he was not the manager and there was a large sign stating “the customer is NOT always right” so my guess is you’ll wanna play it safe on this one and call 🙂 Yo ho ho, though, that Pirate room is a dream.
