Pelham Garden Motel : Bronx, NY

Pelham Garden Motel: More of a classic love mote, this place features all sorts of heart-shaped decor and mood lighting. They book rooms overnight or for “short stays” but they don’t take reservations in advance, from what I can tell.

Location: 1990 E Gun Hill Rd, Bronx, NY 10469

Cost: ~$100-$250

Our Overall Rating: 2/5

This place has some truly stunning features. I love the heart-shaped ceiling mirrors and lights and the tubs and columns but from the 2 rooms we saw, it is much more run down than the nearby Gallery Holiday Motel or even the Loop Inn. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but the room had broken features and was overall quite sticky and visibly dirty. Still some attractive features, but compared to their website it’s not quite as shiny in person. If you have the extra time, head to one of the similar but cleaner ones!

Cleanliness Rating: 1/5

Again – maybe we caught them on a bad day, but this was definitely one of the dirtier rooms we’ve been in lately!

Favorite Room: Either a room with a heart-shaped mirror on the ceiling, or the light up heart on the ceiling above the heart-shaped tub.

The Williamsburg Hotel : Brooklyn, NY

An upscale hotel in Williamsburg with a cheeky reputation, catering to adults and appealing to an exhibitionist crowd.

Location: 96 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11249

Cost: ~$250-$800 depending on the room and date

Our Overall Rating: 5/5

We really wanted to include a hotel that is considered ‘modern sexy’ on our Valentine’s Day Tub Crawl and I’m so glad we did! This place was much more luxurious than our usual spots, but the large tub and double shower right in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows made it just as adventurous. The fluffy robes, skyline view, slippers, and balcony all made this feel like an extra special getaway.

Cleanliness Rating: 5/5

They clearly have a high standard for their rooms. You get what you pay for, in a good way!

Favorite Room: We stayed in 2 rooms and I loved them both but the Skyline Suite is totally worth a night if you can swing it! Here’s a TikTok that shows the infamous bathroom…

Quality Suites NYC Gateway : North Bergen, NJ

Basic hotel right off the freeway with one honeymoon suite that features a heart-shaped jacuzzi.

Location: 1200 Tonnelle Ave, North Bergen, NJ, 07047

Cost: ~$150

Our Overall Rating: 2/5

I love a heart-shaped tub, but this room doesn’t stand out beyond that one feature. Having said that, if you’re looking for a decently clean hotel with a heart tub, this is a good option!

Cleanliness Rating: 3/5

Some of the room and hotel was more updated and clean, while other pieces were clearly falling apart, so I’m a little torn. The lobby was under construction and the front door was broken, but I’m sure those are things that are getting updated soon. All in all, it’s really just a basic roadside option, so set your expectations accordingly!

Favorite Room: Just the honeymoon suite.

Booking Info: Book directly on their website, you’ll see the heart tub option.

America’s Best Value Rialto : Rialto, CA

America’s Best Value Rialto: Roadside motel with heart tubs and a few surprises – but not the good kind.

Location: 425 W Foothill Blvd, Rialto, CA 92376

Cost: ~$200-$300

Our Overall Rating: 2/5

This is a bit of a letdown since I love the unique heart tubs they have, but the rooms themselves were pretty rough. The decor was definitely a huge miss and a bit of a nightmare to look at even. The strange ways they tried to decorate with minimal effort was worse than if they just left things pretty bare. That, and everything was so dirty it felt unsanitary. I often judge these places with price in mind, and this was wildly expensive for what it was. Is the heart tub still fun? Of course. But would I recommend making the extra trip for a better one? Personally, yes.

Cleanliness Rating: 1/5

Not only was everything quite dirty, the mattress was falling apart and had a metal rod sticking out. Seems a bit dangerous. There was also what appeared to be dried blood on some of the sheets and it didn’t even look like it had been washed. If what you’re coming here for is the heart tub, bring cleaner, and keep your expectations for everything else low, and you’ll love it. Lol.

Favorite Room: He showed us 2 heart tub rooms – neither of them were the beautiful photo they advertised online. The one upstairs was in far worse shape so pick the downstairs one if you’re going.

Dynasty Suites Redlands : Redlands, CA

Dynasty Suites Redlands: A roadside motel with Honeymoon Suites and Pleasant Surprises.

Location: 1235 W Colton Ave, Redlands, CA 92374

Cost: $150-$200

Our Overall Rating: 3.5/5

This is definitely a nothin-fancy roadside motel, but like, a REALLY good one. The room felt super clean, maybe a little outdated, but that’s what we like! The ceiling mirror and the heart tub were so perfect. They have both green and maroon tiled heart tubs and they’re super spacious. They have an outdoor pool, spa, and sauna, so I guess maybe they’re fancier than I thought. For a roadside motel, this one has a lot to offer.

Cleanliness Rating: 3.5/5

The room itself actually felt incredibly clean, but the tub could have used some TLC. The water also came out pretty cloudy and I’m not sure if that’s because the tub wasn’t clean or the water is like that there. Either way, that’s the only issue we had!

Favorite Room: Honeymoon Suite aka Hot Tub Suite – when you book it’s good to call ahead and make sure they reserved the right one for you!

Booking Info: Book directly on their website. They wouldn’t let us pick the tub color but we did call to ask if they could save it for us. They weren’t sure if they could – but they did – so that’s a good sign!
